Monday, February 15 – Tamam Kahn reveals her new book UNTOLD. This event offers a new, vital and positive view of the women close to Prophet Muhammad. In her book, Untold, she gives an opportunity to look at the women close to Muhammad at the time when Islam meant “the way of peace,” not a religion; and guides us deeper into who they might have been. This book incorporates 10 years of research, but catches moments in each woman’s life through poems, woven throughout the stories.
Untold: A History of the Wives……..is a riveting hen-house of delight, a book based on subjects our society finds endlessly confusing – marriage, matriarchy and Muhammad. Finally, we get to meet the first women of Islam. – Coleman Barks
Untold frees the authentic voice of these women…..this book is part of a larger movement that seeks to reclaim the voices of women prophets, and saints of all traditions. – Dr. Neil Douglas Klotz

Sundays, March 7, 14, 28 – Harmonic Temple Chant – 7:15 – 8:30 pm, Old Town Yoga Studio, 237 Jefferson St., Fort Collins. Cost: $5 and up sliding scale.
For men and women of all voice levels.
The Harmonic Temple’ is a collection of chants in four part harmony using short texts from a broad spectrum of spiritual traditions. When sung repeatedly in an open-hearted manner, a special ambience develops; a feeling of being in a Sacred space created by the sound of the harmony.
The Harmonic Temple happens when a group of singers sing in a circle, for themselves and each other with no other audience, with the intent of going deeply into the attunement of the chant. This usually means sustaining the song for a while, so that all the singers can get past the point of struggling to remember words or melody, and beyond issues around vocal inadequacy, to the point at which they are one with the music and its intent. This can include exploring the physical space occupied by the singers, to feel the impact of the sound from various places in and around the circle, and times of listening, prayer, meditation and/or allowing the music to enter as a medium of healing.
